I have been working with people, to help them to recover from feelings of sadness and worry for over 20 years.
I have spent most of my career in the NHS and occupied very senior clinical roles during that time.
I have a special interest in helping people recover from traumatic life events, helping people control their anger and get a better nights sleep.
I am a qualified therapist and Social Worker, and I have spent most of my career in the public sector, in various, front-line, clinical and managerial roles. Like Mike during that time I have worked with many people who have been experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, low mood and more severe and enduring mental health problems.
My interests also lay in helping people manage anger, improve their sleep, and generally improve their overall sense of happiness and contentment.
We know from experience that the NHS struggles to help everyone that needs help.
You may be someone who has tried to seek help from your Doctor or Healthcare worker. Some of you may have been able to get extra help, and others of you may not have been helped at all.
The NHS does a very good job, but it tends to think that one size fits all, we know that this is not the case. We are all different, and so we are often best helped by services that are created with us in mind.
We use a variety of therapy approaches that we have been trained to use in our work with people and organisations.
We are both passionate about blending the new science of compassion into all of the work that we do.
Kind Minds is our vehicle to help spread a very simple message, that if we are kind to others and to ourselves then we feel happier and more fulfilled. People like us more, and the happiness is contagious.
"Kind Minds has helped me understand that mental wellbeing should not be something
that is just checked upon at times of crisis, but woven into our daily activities.”
